Bomb blast at Roxas night market Davao City



The explosion caused at least 14 casualties and 60 injured. Terrorist group Abu Sayyaf claimed responsibilities for the attack to unite against the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The blast caused at least 14 casualties and 60 injured.

Prior to the incident happened President Duterte requested the Armed Forces of the Philippines to wreck Abu Sayyaf, after the outlaw  executed one of its victim. 


Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte got a bomb threat two days before the occurrence, expressing that an assault will happen either in General Santos or Davao City. Duterte selected not to discharge the information to the public.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced a "state of lawless violence" in the Philippines as the entire city of Davao was put on lockdown. Under the declaration, the Armed Forces of the Philippines are given the power to direct law implementation operations regularly done by the Philippine National Police.  Duterte likewise scratched off a booked state visit to Brunei.
